Emergent Architectures

Discovery is a key component to my practice. These sculptures start as a flat two dimensional slab of clay and piece by piece become intriguing multidimensional maps in space. Each facet starts as an expressive cut from the slab, but when attached to the accreting form becomes a visual encounter in a unique landscape. This process unfolds much like many life experiences that create the human one. I place them on these pedestals as a celebration of that process.
